A Day of Prayer and Action
On World Food Day October 16th the Canadian Foodgrains Bank encourages churches, schools and congregations across the country to join together in an ecumenical day of fasting and reflecting on how we are all connected. Christians and people of other faiths are united by the belief that hunger in a world of such abundance is a matter of injustice, and we are called to respond. In a world where unfair trade policies exist alongside over-consumption and more than 850 million people are chronically malnourished, Canadians have the power to change the statistics, change the rules, and change lives.
