Description of the Position:
The Board members and committed partners of Core Neighbourhood Youth Co-op (CNYC) are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed team leader with a high level of proficiency to fill the position of the Executive Director. We are looking to fill the position with an individual who can provide leadership to staff, effectively manage the business operations of CNYC and provide enhanced programming for youth.
Wage/Salary: $42,000-$48,000 Depending on Qualifications
Employment terms: Full time
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Executive Director will have the ability to manage the business functions of a non-profit including:
- the development of projected budgets;
- provide accurate and timely reports to the Board of Directors;
- lead a team in providing quality youth programming;
- and establish and maintain relationships with community partners, Board of
Directors and youth in a positive and professional manner.

Education and Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
The ideal candidate has strong communication skills and a proven ability to lead and supervise others.
- Knowledge of First Nations and Metis culture and history considered an asset.
- Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in social work, community development or a related field.
- Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to non-profit/ cooperative/ voluntary organizations
- Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector
organizations - Knowledge of current community challenges and opportunities relating to the mission of the organizationleadership experience and a knowledge of Human Resources concepts, Financial management, and Project Management
- Proficient in current office equipment and software programs
