About the Position:

The Point Douglas Residents Committee is seeking a mature  and enthusiastic individual to be our new Community Development Worker.  The position is under the direction and guidance of the volunteer board.  Often the sole employee, the successful candidate will plan community events, prepare funding proposals and reports, build on current partnerships/networks, coordinate volunteers and manage  office, including filing and maintaining records of all projects. 

Hourly wage of $21.00.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Work includes housing improvements, community gardening, income boosting projects and advocacy. We are seeking an individual who is self-managed and committed to determining community needs and designed programs to meet those needs. 
 
Qualifications:
Must be able to manage a small office, (located in the Social Enterprise Centre at 765 Main St.)  and work with a volunteer board.  An understanding and appreciation for low-income communities, its residents and issues is essential.
 
The ideal candidate must have Community Economic Development experience, financial skills, and excellent people skills.  
Will consider 2 positions part-time.
