Supervisor – Pleasant Hill Place and The Male Youth Lodge

Pleasant Hill Place (PHP) provides supportive transitional housing for women who are at risk of losing  their children into the care of the Ministry of Social Services. The Male Youth Lodge (MYL) provides supportive transitional housing for homeless young men ages 16 to 22.
 
The Supervisor oversees all aspects of the operations and administration and provides leadership to the staff of Pleasant Hill Place and the Male Youth Lodge to ensure the two transitional homes are operating  effectively and that key deliverables are reached.

Responsibilities

Under the general supervision of Quint’s management, the Supervisor works with the Home Operators and program staff at both houses and with the Ministry Officials to carry out the key responsibilities of this  position as follows:
  • Oversee the operations and administration of Pleasant Hill Place and the Youth Lodge including 
    • Developing and administering operating budgets,
    • Ensuring appropriate staffing, 
    • Maintaining schedules, 
    • Reviewing timesheets
    • Ensuring the maintenance of the two homes, 
    • Ensuring inspections and required licensing;
    • develop and implement of policies and procedures
  • In consultation with Ministry partners, oversee the intake process of applicants wishing to reside in the homes;
  • Develop short and long term goals with all stakeholders that  become the basis of a case plan that supports the residents in their path to independence
  • Act as liaison between the Youth Lodge/Pleasant Hill Place and community partners, funders, case workers, and others as identified;
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to staff as required;
  • Provide reports as required.
  • Other duties as required.

Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications 

  • Significant supervisory and program administration experience including budget development and management
  • Related experience working with similar group home situations
  • Familiarity with community resources and how to access them.
  • Understanding of Community Economic Development Practice
  • Relevant post-secondary education and or experience.
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office software especially Word and Excel programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Be able to provide a criminal record check
  • Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
