About the Role

Are you obsessed with impact? Not just social do-goodery and good vibes - but measurable, meaningful impact? Do project plans, gantt charts and user feedback mechanisms make your heart sing? The Program Manager is responsible for creating, adapting, testing and delivering programs that accelerate the impact of our members. From Catapult microloans to CSI Hookup to educational programs, the Program Manager brings the services, skills and resources of Canada to our doorstep. You will assess member needs, establish appropriate partnerships and design and deliver the goods.
 
Working closely with the Programming Director, the Partnership Manager and the NYC program team, you’ll also experiment with public-facing events, strengthening the CSI brand while supporting a broader movement for social innovation.
 
Make no mistake about it – this position is a crapload of work in a fast-changing environment. You need to be nimble yet rigorous, creative yet focused. Yes, you are developing strategy but you are also responsible for execution. We have no minions. We are a lean, bootstrapping team that does whatever it takes to deliver with excellence.

Responsibilities:

Working from Toronto, you’ll be reporting to the Director of Programming. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Developing & managing partnerships
  • Engaging stakeholders in program delivery 
  • Delivering the Ontario Catapult Microloan program, CSI’s initiative to finance emerging social enterprises
  • Coordinating, assessing and refining the CSI Hookup program, a matchmaking service between social entrepreneurs and experts in law, finance, design & more.
  • Developing and launching new acceleration programs in service to our members;
  • Working with the Communications Animator to develop program promotional materials.
  • Working with the Location Managers and community animation teams to develop services that support member success,
  • Monitoring and evaluating the success of the programs,
  • Having a point of view,
  • Deliver new programs in a lean and iterative fashion, building in feedback loops and constantly evolving our practice,
  • Washing dishes (everyone washes dishes here!),
  • and much, much more…

Prior Experience

  • 3+ years project management experience
  • 5+ years experience with nonprofit and for-profit social enterprise sectors
  • Superb written and oral communication
  • Passion for, and experience in, social innovation
  • Experience designing, implementing and evaluating programs
  • Experience creating and managing budgets
  • Facilitation experience
  • Proposal writing and fundraising experience
  • Stakeholder engagement / partnership management experience
  • Familiarity with Ontario’s social impact sector
  • Imagination! Seriously – you need to be able to create and not just replicate.
  • Experience with complexity science, network thinking, etc.
