The Volunteer’s Role

Join the powerful and dedicated staff of Movimiento Manuela Ramos and work towards a better more equal Peru for women and female youth in the capital city of Lima!

We're looking for a volunteer that is dedicated to improving the gender equality in the country by transferring their knowledge and experience in sales and marketing.

As a volunteer, you will be directly involved in strengthening the capacity of women in the Female Artisan Centre (Casa de Mujer Artesana), a socio-economic development project created by the Movimiento Manuela Ramos (MMR). This project aims to enable craftswomen from rural and impoverished areas of Peru to gain access to markets that enable them to grow their economic standing, provide them with knowledge about their rights as indigenous women and to train them in building their own design, organization, leadership and business management skills to succeed as businesswomen on their own.

You'll be contributing to the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies that they can access for their own art and crafts.

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Develop a marketing plan to promote hand-knitted doll products in the national scale.
  • Generate marketing plans to help the women of the centre enter international markets for a variety of Peruvian folklore products.
  • Provide your expertise to improve the Female Artisan Centre’s social media strategy, with the aim of improving their presence online and attract new customers throughout the country as well as abroad.

Essential Academic Qualifications:

  • Degree in marketing, communications, publicity, business administration or similar disciplines

Essential Academic Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and/or implementing communication, marketing and/or branding strategies
  • Excellent writing, editing and communication skills for developing print and digital materials
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to be able to communicate with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to work under pressure and proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Sound knowledge of digital media and social networks
  • Creativity and innovation
