Description:
The Project Manager, Economic Reconciliation and CED provides coordination and leadership in the promotion/implementation of initiatives in the Faculty of Environment (FENV) including the new Economic Reconciliation program, the non-credit Certificate Program for Community Economic Development (CED), the Local Entrepreneurship Accelerator Programs (LEAP!), and other initiatives as required. The position builds strong student, Indigenous/Nation and community partner relationships and delivers the highest quality student support ensuring that the program's instructional and academic goals are consistent with the Faculty of Environment's mandate and objectives.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (i.e. Business, Planning, Social Work, or commensurate) plus three years of experience in a related field or equivalent combination years of experience, training and education. (i.e. small business support or education; project/program coordination or management in educational institutions, local government, Indigenous band councils, organizations and/or similar entities; community development project/program coordination for non-profits, community-based organizations; or social enterprise development and/or management).
- Extensive knowledge of Indigenous organizations and communities.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with Indigenous people, organizations, and communities.
- Strong familiarity with Indigenous issues in British Columbia including: legacy effects of colonialism, the environment for Indigenous community development, etc.
- A working understanding of business or economic development issues or community development.
- Ability to work with individuals across cultures, education levels and sectors.
- Ability to mentor or support students.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to professionally and promptly address the concerns of external stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer/tech skills, especially in MS Office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented.
- Excellent consultative and team skills, with the ability to problem solve.
- Familiarity with economic development organizations and funders in British Columbia; experience fundraising and maintaining funder reporting requirements; familiarity with social innovation principles and practice; and good presentation or public speaking skills.
- Ability to arrange suitable transportation for travel to various work locations as required.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required, including evenings and weekends.
