Hiring Immediately for Farm Intern Position

Job Description:

Work and learn on an organic market garden this summer. The Organic Food Council of Manitoba and Jonathan Stevens of Jonathan's Farm are seeking a full-time farm intern. This 12 week term position is 40 hours per week, $9.50/hr starting immediately and ending August 27, 2011. Work tasks and responsibilities include: planting, weeding, watering, cultivating, harvesting, and marketing of horticulture crops, organic/natural soil amendments.

Participants must also meet the following the criteria:

• between the ages of 15 and 30 inclusively at the time of selection
• have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year
• a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident, or a protected person within the meaning of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
• legally entitled to work in Canada and according to the relevant provincial and/or territorial legislation and regulations
• Ability to begin work on or before June 3, 2011 is an asset.
