What is CED?
Community economic development (CED) is local action by people to create economic opportunities and enhance social conditions in their communities. Hundreds of Canadian communities have benefited from the transformative solutions to poverty, homelessness and out-migration offered by CED.

Purpose:
To strengthen the CED movement in Canada while highlighting the unique character of CED initiatives in Atlantic Canada.
To increase the profile of CED.
To advance a national policy agenda for CED.
To contribute to skills development, capacity building, networking and information sharing among CED practitioners and stakeholders.


The Canadian CED Network works to promote and support CED for the social, economic, and environmental betterment of Canadian communities. The network has over 750 members and unites over 10,000 CED organizations in every province and territory.

Futures in Newfoundland and Labrador's Youth - or FINALY! - represents youth aged 15-30 in Newfoundland and Labrador. With over 1,000 members across the province, FINALY! promotes economic and social opportunities for youth to build a viable future in Newfoundland and Labrador
