About the Position

The Winnipeg Rental Network is seeking a highly motivated team-player to undertake an outreach campaign within Winnipeg’s inner-city. The Winnipeg Rental Network wishes to expand its outreach work to provide greater access and resources for affordable rental accommodations. This position will be located in the offices of the North End Community Renewal Corporation.

Start Date: early April 2012 1 year contract with possibility of renewal
Terms: $16.50 - $18.00/hr 30 hours/week

Responsibilities:

• Transcribe data to a property registry database for partner Neighbourhood Renewal Corporations (NRC);
• Coordinate with NRC partners to undertake surveys and to distribute outreach pamphlets;
• Consolidate data and conduct outreach to inner-city landlords to promote listing service;
• Maintain a detailed, internal landlord list for social agency partners;
• Help coordinate evening landlord workshops;
• Assistance landlords to use website; - Maintain communication with participating landlords, tenants & partners;
• Submit bi-monthly written report on goals, activities, and outcomes;
• Report to WRN Coordinator and attend meetings of the Steering Committee.

Qualifications:

• Related post-secondary education or equivalent Community Development experience;
• Experience with programming in MS Excel or Access; proficiency with MS Word and Outlook;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills;

Assets:

• Marketing skills considered an asset;
• Demonstrated understanding of tenancy legislation and conflict resolution;
• Familiarity with inner-city communities;
• Own transportation
