Quint Development Corporation is a not-for-profit organization which exists to strengthen the social and economic well-being of Saskatoon’s five core neighbourhoods through a community economic development approach. Quint Development Corporation is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to fill the following full time position.
Quint’s Affordable Housing Program develops and operates housing opportunities for low-income families.
Duties:
Technical Housing related duties:
• Coordinate the development of an affordable housing strategic plan;
• Develop proposals and assist with the implementation of new housing initiatives;
• Assist in all aspects of property management i.e.: lease agreements, tenant move-ins & move-outs, Rentalsman hearings, monthly housing/rental payments, and maintenance, etc.
Community Development related duties:
• Advise community organizations, applicants and other interested groups about housing programs, eligibility and selection criteria;
• Assist with interviews of applicants and recommend applicants for selection. This includes
o determining applicants program eligibility, and
o completing a household budget with the applicant.
• Provide support to Condominium and Tenant Associations;
Administrative duties:
• Provide financial and other reports for submission to the Affordable Housing Supervisor/Manager;
• Assist in the development of other types of affordable housing initiatives.
Qualifications:
Knowledge:
• Understanding of community economic and/or co-operative development;
• Experience in proposal writing & budget development;
• Understanding of the issues faced by lower-income families, individuals and neighbourhoods;
• Understanding of issues and impacts related to affordable housing;
• Demonstrated experience working at the community level with community-based organizations;
Skills:
• Strong written and oral communication skills;
• Experience with budget development and administration;
• Excellent computer skills; experience working with spreadsheets;
• Ability to think conceptually, analyze, exercise sound judgment and make effective recommendations;
• Excellent ability to adapt to changing priorities & in adjusting work plans accordingly;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Ability to develop and work effectively in partnerships with government, business and the community;
• Ability to work flexible hours (may include occasional evenings);
• Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle.
