Responsibilities:

• Engage the overall community, stakeholders, youth, service groups, businesses, etc in addressing neighbourhood safety concerns
• Provide public education on community safety, including making presentations to groups, arranging media promotions and creating materials such as brochures and information sheets
• Coordinate the PCRC graffiti removal program, including supervision of volunteers and summer students
• Engage residents in general community clean up through the Keep It Clean program and our Community Clean ups and develop other programs
• Coordinate safety audits with volunteer Safety Audit Teams and collate safety audits results into reports for the Public Safety Task Force and general public
• Provide support to other neighbourhood safety projects and respond to emerging safety concerns

 Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma. Post secondary education preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively to residents and community partners and funders; both in writing and verbally
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office software programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and able to learn new programs
• Interest in community revitalization and development.
• Experience working with volunteers an asset
• Acceptable criminal record check and child abuse record check.
• Preference given to residents of Portage la Prairie
