About the Position:
Spence Neighbourhood Association is looking for a Youth Program Coordinator for our Youth Program serving youth 12 -18 years old at the Magnus Eliason Recreation Centre. This is a full time position, 37.5 hrs/week. Wage $15 with room for growth.
The Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning and implementation of the Youth Drop-In program. This person will work alongside the Newcomer Outreach Worker and the Youth Programs Manager to ensure that youth programming is successful. The successful candidate will be highly organized and will work well independently or as part of a team. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, 2pm – 10pm.
Main Duties Include:
- Plan activities for up to 50 youth Plan and prepare meals Manage youth behaviour and discipline
- Deal with crisis/incidents
- Manage budget/Purchase materials for programming Facilitate the Youth Committee Recruit, train and coordinate volunteers Coordinate transportation for programming
- Support other staff
Requirements:
- Experience with youth programming for youth ages 12-18 years old
- Experience working with inner-city youth and/or understanding of inner-city issues
- Education or training in coaching, teaching or recreational programming
- Ability to work in a fast-paced
- Experience managing volunteers
- Ability to provide clear direction and feed back to volunteers and youth participants
- Excellent organizational skills
- Self motivated
- Have an in-depth understanding of the barriers that inner-city communities face
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Enjoy team work and be willing to assist other youth program leaders
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to provide a current criminal record check and child registry check
- Ability to work afternoons and evenings
- Valid Manitoba Drivers Licence

Current First aid, CPR training Creativity and ambition Class 4 Drivers Licence
