Description
Specific Responsibilities:
- Performs all duties and responsibilties in accordance with the Xaxli'p Policies, Procedures and as directed by the Administrator
- Maintains confidentiality on all matters relating to the affairs of Xaxli'p
- Coordinate and participate in the development of project proposals for the purposes of implementing elements of the Xaxli'p Economic Development Strategy.
- Assist with the development of strategic partnerships and liaise with representatives of business, industry, government and other related organizations
- Assist with the implementation of strategies that support and encourage the expansion and diversification of the existing business sector in support of continued industrial growth and regional economic development.
- Research and prepare impact reports that illustrate relevant economic, demographic and other trends and forecasts in order to support the implementation of the Xaxli'p Economic Development Strategy.
- Respond to enquiries and provide information about the region and individual communities to assist prospective investors in making informed business decisions.
Position Qualifications
Education / Training
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Business, Economic Development or Commerce.
- Three years direct related experience
Personal Qualifications and Other Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent planning, organizational, time management, conflict resolution and problem solving.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with diverse groups including industry, government and community leaders.
- Ability to work independently is essential.
- Sound knowledge of municipal affairs, business principles, land use planning.
- Knowledge of St'at'imc language and culture an asset.
- Class 5 Driver's License and a personal vehicle for business use.
- Ability to work flexible hours and willing to travel for meetings.
