The Community Financial Services Centre (CFSC) a successful program of NERI has made a location change to the new Social Enterprise Centre (SEC) and a name change to Citizens’ Bridge (an ID/Drivers’ License Clinic).  We are now located at #204 – 765 Main Street and as of January 2013 we will be launching our new community services.

Citizens’ Bridge is seeking a highly motivated Bridge Builder (Case worker). This is a full-time position, reporting to the Program Manager. The successful candidate will work directly and specifically with the Citizens’ Bridge Drivers Trainer Instructor to promote and coordinate Citizens’ Bridge services with our Community Referral Partners and throughout the North End Community

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the Administrative Assistant to book client appointments for the Drivers Trainer Instructor and to coordinate client appointments and community partner      outreach visits in conjunction with the other Bridge Builder staff                                                             
  • Client intake, needs assessments, maintain and update confidential Citizens’ Bridge client files
  • Provide weekly written progress reports (for Bridge Builder and for the Drivers Trainer Instructor) to the Program Manager
  • Gather required statistical information; liaise with the Administrative Assistant and/or other staff to compile a joint monthly report, for the Program Manager
  • Assist the Program Manager and /or staff with various administrative functions as required 
  • Under the direction of the Program Manager, and working with other staff to coordinate details/arrangements of internal and/or external community meetings, information sessions and requests for off- site Money Management Training Sessions

Skills and Qualifications:

  • University Degree and/or Community College Diploma (Canadian Economic Development (CED), Marketing, and Administration) are preferred. Minimum of Grade 12 and/or GED, with experiential knowledge of CED principles, and an understanding of the barriers that lead to financial exclusion and poverty will be considered     
  • Good organizational and reporting skills are required
  • Excellent computer skills (Word/Excel/Power Point/Access/Outlook). Ability to use templates, collect statistical data, assists with the design/development of posters and the ability to assist with the development of community presentations
  • Respect for client confidentiality and privacy, demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to inner city and social issues
  • Ability to work as an effective team member
  • Bank related/financial services experience, would be an asset
  • A valid Class 5, Drivers License (for a minimum of three years) is a requirement for this position
