Salary: $93,914 to $128,975 per annum
Bring your vision, direction and strategic initiative to this pivotal role as you lead the integration of Yukon Government's economic development activities with those of other governments, departments and crown corporations. With your strong understanding of the region's and Yukon First Nations' economic base and culture, you will lead your team in their work with business partners, First Nation governments and Yukon communities to the benefit of all Yukoners.
Approved candidates will be provided reimbursement of interview/ relocations expenses, if required, in accordance with the Interview & Relocation Expense Directive.

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister Operations, the Director, Regional Economic Development will provide leadership, vision, as well as direction, and strategic advice in areas of expertise. The position is responsible for serving as the government’s focal point for First Nation’s economic development and leading the integration of regional economic development activities with activities of other governments, departments and crown corporations. The incumbent will work with and direct regional economic development staff working with business partners, First Nation governments and communities in the economic development of the territory to the mutual benefit of all Yukoners. | |
Qualifications: | |
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications. Please note selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume. · Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (preference may be given to candidates with a degree in public administration or business administration); · Extensive experience leading economic development strategies and projects, preferably focused in the area of community/regional development and/or First Nations; · Experience providing strategic direction at the senior management level would be an asset; · Experience leading a team of professionals including managing human and financial resources. Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered. |
