MAIN FUNCTIONS:
The incumbent will be responsible for advising and supporting local coordinators in terms of projects geared toward alleviating food insecurity, NPO development, social economy companies or projects aimed at counteracting social isolation involving individuals facing poverty. He or she will coordinate the establishment of a strategy for local social insertion and professional integration in order to contribute to the betterment of living conditions of poverty-stricken individuals and, to better identify target intervention in terms of socio-economic development.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Develop and establish a community organizational strategy in line with the political, cultural and socio-economic reality within First Nations;
- Create the First Nations Community Action and Social Economy Network;
- Develop a pilot-project in four (4) communities, coordinate all local activities, management, assessment and accountability;
- Participate in the hiring of four (4) local coordinators specific to the pilot-communities and coordinate the efforts of the latter;
- Provide technical and financial guidance to local coordinators;
- Develop new partnerships specific to establishing the strategy; Implement a virtual platform for the Network;
- Develop and apply the evaluation framework according to the standards of the national component of the “Fonds québécois d’initiatives sociales (FQIS)” and produce the required reports.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Plan, organize and coordinate and/or support the implementation of activities that are conducive to the elaboration of a socio-economic development plan;
- Attend meetings, committees and/or roundtables with various partners related to the incumbent’s responsibilities;
- Advise and provide technical and professional ad hoc support to local coordinators;
- Produce or complete various required documents: activity and meeting reports, updates, press releases, etc.

REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Educational level: University - Undergraduate (Bachelor's),
Bachelor's degree in the field of administration, economics or other related field - Completed
Years of experience related to the job offer :2 year(s) of experience
Description of qualifications :
- Must possess a keen interest in working with First Nations;
- Proficiency of NPO legal status forms;
- First Nations awareness and experience is an asset;
- Knowledge of First Nation organizations, social economy companies and social programs is an asset;
- Pertinent knowledge of MS Office and other specialized software;
- If required by the position, all retained candidates must accept and agree to submitted reference checks, credit check, medical evaluation and their criminal history record.
Professional qualification recognised outside the education or university network : Must hold a valid driver’s permit.

Number of hours per week : 35,00
Various terms : Available to travel at all times with or without notice. Hiring priority to the members of First Nations.
