External Advisory Committee on Cities and Communities

The External Advisory Committee on Cities and Committees began its work in February 2004 under the chairmanship of Michael Harcourt, formerly mayor of Vancouver and Premier of British Columbia. Charged with examining the future of Canada’s cities and communities, the Committee focused on a long-term vision of the role that cities and communities should play in sustaining our prosperity. The recommendations are based on the views of a wide variety of Canadian leaders, experts and practitioners, commissioned research and a review of Canadian and international studies.
