Required Qualifications:

• 15 to 30 years of age
• Out of school and out of work
• Legally entitled to work in Ontario
• Experiencing barriers to employment
• Not receiving Employment Insurance benefits
• Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or conferred refugee

Job Qualifications:

• Understanding of the bicycle industry as a whole and basic bicycle maintenance and repair
• Strong computer skills (MS Office, Excel)
• Demonstrable past success in working with adults of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds

• Undertaking the repair, maintenance and servicing of BIXI bikes in Toronto
• Assists in inventory control, shipping and receiving of BIXI bikes and replacement parts
• Maintains a clean and organized workstation and surroundings, as mandated by Ontario Occupational Safety Act and LEF Health & Safety Guidelines
• Be available for services for BIXI Toronto for unscheduled repair and maintenance
• Carries out the duties of on-the-road (level 1) and (level 2) repairs specified in the service and repair schedule
• Testing of proper operation of BIXI bikes during periodic inspections of the bikes at the stations as per on-the-road scheduled maintenance
• Identifies bikes in need of (level 1) repairs and carries out minor repairs such as: gear adjustment, brake adjustments, minor wheel alignment, and minor graffiti cleanup
• Maintains accurate and complete records related to the repair schedule of duties
• Adheres to professional and courteous conduct with customer service issues at all times
• Refers all contacts with journalists or media representatives to BIXI Toronto Communications
