The Counselling Program Manager reports to the Executive Director; is a member of the Management Team; supervises the Counselling Team; and provides direct service to participants of the North End Women’s Centre.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or certificate in the social services field
- Minimum of 2 years experience providing operational and clinical supervision to a team
- Minimum 3 years experience providing individual and group counselling to women who have experienced domestic violence
- Experience in the development, organization, and facilitation of groups and programs for women of diverse backgrounds
- Experience working in a community based setting in the North End of Winnipeg an asset
- Knowledge of a variety of different counselling styles; the impact of poverty, addictions, violence, and dependency on women; Aboriginal Culture, and the resources in the community
- Ability to effectively motivate and lead a team
- Strong time management, organizational, decision making, and problem solving skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Non-judgmental and accepting attitude
- Computer and administrative skills
- Valid driver’s license, access to a safe vehicle and satisfactory Criminal Record and Child Abuse Register Check
- Other combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered
Responsibilities
- Supervises staff in the Counselling Program, Drop In Program, and Children’s Program
- Participates in the hiring, orientation, and evaluation of staff and volunteers
- Develops and implements programs, groups, and workshops
- Conducts intakes for the Counselling Program and maintains the waitlist
- Provides long term, short term, crisis, and group counselling to women
- Administrative and reporting duties

Job Status: Permanent Full Time - 37.5 hours a week (Monday to Friday 8:30 – 4:30)
Salary Range: $42, 900 – $48, 750 (dependent on qualifications and experience)
