MCSC is a non-profit agency funded by the Province of Manitoba to operate a grant program to support volunteer, community service organizations across Manitoba.

MCSC is seeking a dynamic individual committed to the non-profit voluntary sector to lead the organization. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing MCSC’s grant program and day to day operations, leading a staff of 3 to accomplish the vision and priorities established by the Board of Directors, and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manages the human and financial resources of the organization and oversees the general administration of the grant program
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with the non-profit, voluntary sector, government, staff and Board of Directors through open communication
  • Works with the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic priorities and policy
  • Ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial accounting and statistical reporting
  • Ensures compliance with legal and other reporting requirements set by government

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education and job related experience in the non-profit sector or an equivalent combination of education, job-related training and experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment and superior interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the non-profit, volunteer sector in Manitoba
  • Ability to identify, analyze and generate solutions to problems based on established policies and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with staff and board members and lead a team
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with a volunteer Board of Directors
  • Supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial/resource management principles
  • Demonstrated prioritization, organization, time management, planning and follow-up skills
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite
