Through a partnership with the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Co-operatives (NLFC) and the Department of Innovation, Business and Rural Development (IBRD), RDÉE TNL is offering a service to francophone communities in Newfoundland and Labrador: co-operative development assistance.

After undertaking extensive training in co-operative development given by the NLFC, our Economic Development Officers are now ready to share their knowledge and invite all those who are interested to take part in our awareness sessions that will be held in St. John’s and Labrador City.

These sessions will introduce participants to the co-operative and its benefits as a business model.  Presenting examples of existing co-operatives in Newfoundland and Labrador, these sessions will highlight the steps to take in forming a co-operative and the resources available for those who wish to take on the adventure! Through these awareness sessions, RDÉE TNL wishes to promote the contribution of co-operatives in community economic development and to show how this form of business can be a sustainable solution to some economic and social issues.

Under the form of a dinner and discussion, the sessions will be held in Labrador City on March 13th at 5:30 pm at the Association francophone du Labrador (AFL) and in St. John’s at the Centre Communautaire des Grands-Vents at 6:30 pm on March 13th 2014 as well. These sessions will be presented in English, with French handouts and French assistance where further explanation is needed.
