Explore the way things are, and the way they ought to be
A Community Needs Assessment is a critical first step in providing non-profit organizations with a comprehensive picture of the issues in their community. A Community Needs Assessment includes data collection, analysis and interpretation, as well as community consultation, communication and consensus building.
Join Planning and Evaluation Facilitator Erin Huck for Volunteer Manitoba's Community Needs Assessment Workshop (March 14, 9 - 4) and learn when to use a needs assessment, different tools available to identify needs and how to use the information you gather to guide your work. Participants will be provided with tools and resources to undertake a needs assessment within their community or organization.
Learning Outcomes:
- what is a needs assessment, and how it can be used;
- hands-on implementation of a needs assessment tool; and
- how to translate information gathered into action.
