As the Aboriginal Business Counsellor you will participate in a comprehensive program focused on improving financial and growth opportunities for women business owners living in Northern Ontario.
The Aboriginal Business Counsellor is responsible for:
- The effective development and delivery of a comprehensive business coaching/counseling, training and mentoring program designed to increase productivity, innovation, and profitability for Northern women entrepreneurs living in urban, rural, remote, and First Nation communities.
With Post Secondary Education in Business Economic development or a related field, you have experience with business planning and operations, group training, coaching/counseling, and related areas. You are a team player, positive and self-motivated. Experience working with First Nations and Francophone communities; knowledge of women's issues, microfinance, and community economic development are definite assets.
POSITION REQUIRES: that you hold a valid driver's license and personal vehicle insurance; be comfortable as a facilitator/presenter; have excellent communication and analytical skills; and an ability to accommodate competing demands while meeting deadlines. Ability to build partnerships.
WORKING AREA: working from Thunder Bay, Ontario, you must be willing to travel extensively in Northwestern and Northeastern Ontario, including Remote communities; travel is mandatory to this position.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Executive Director (ED)
HOURS OF WORK: minimum 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
