General Accountability
The Intern, Youth Engagement will join the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Organizing Committee (TO2015) for an exciting internship and will assist the Community Outreach team in the
planning of the TORONTO 2015 Building Legacies Youth Summit. The Building Legacies Program is a 4-
month program that will launch in January 2015 that seeks to engage 500 people between 16 to 24 years of age from across the Western Hemisphere in the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games. The program is themed around building community through sport and the intern will be working on creating programming that is themed around amateur sport, sport development and legacy. In support of the incumbent’s academic goals, this dynamic role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a once-in-a-lifetime organization.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate meetings and working groups and preparing documents for consulate engagement meetings, the Youth Advisory Council.
- Assist with daily administration of planning and development and engage and various outreach efforts for the Building Legacies program.
- Supports staff with opportunities for event and program enhancement.
- Assists with communication and maintenance of internal and external partnerships.
- Helps with promotion, execution and evaluation of events and programs.
- Provides general assistance to the Community Outreach function.

Educational/Technical Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a registered post-secondary program with an internship required for completion
- Proficient with Microsoft Office–Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint

- Highly resourceful, self-motivated and analytical.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of multiple sport event coordination, planning, and execution.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible to work long/irregular hours during peak periods.
