Responsibilities:

• Create public awareness material such as fact sheets and give presentations
• Support a Women’s Leadership Group through their project development phase, by helping to arrange bi-weekly meetings of the group, and overseeing mentor matches.
• Provide administrative support to working groups in the areas of transportation, childcare and public awareness, assisting them in meeting their mandates.
• Foster community partnerships to work on building economic security, through networking and coordination of an Advisory Committee.
• Reporting to funders and community members on progress of project.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education or experience in an area related to community development.
• Ability to work with groups and engage people from various backgrounds in the planning and execution of projects.
• Proven verbal and written communication skills including public presentations and reports.
• Display cultural competence, knowledge of aboriginal culture an asset.
• Ability to work independently and to meet time sensitive deadlines.
• Acceptable criminal record check and child abuse record check.
• Preference given to residents of Portage la Prairie and area.
