Supporting Employment and Economic Development Winnipeg Inc. (SEED) is a Community Economic Development organization. We operate programs to support individuals living on a low income to build their asset base and save for assets or household necessities. The Asset Building Program Coordinator will be responsible for providing support to participants on accessing government entitlements, tax preparation, facilitating Money Management Training, budgeting, monitoring savings, and assisting participants with purchasing their assets. We are looking for someone with demonstrated experience in providing individualized support to individuals facing multiple barriers, providing referrals to community supports and in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate will be a quick learner, highly motivated, detail-oriented, and skilled in program administration. This position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong program development and program co-ordination experience
  • Excellent program administration skills
  • Extensive facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of personal budgeting and money management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally (oral and written)
  • Strong computer skills and working experience with MS Office 2010/2013 and database software
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of inner city issues and Community Economic Development
  • Good working relationships with community organizations serving low-income community residents 
  • Excellent conflict management skills
  • Personal knowledge of or experience working with others living on a low income
  • Ability to work with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team in a non-profit participatory management environment
  • Familiarity with income support programs and entitlements available to individuals living on low-income
  • Familiarity with RESPs, the Canada Learning Bond, and RESP savings incentives
  • Experience supervising and mentoring employees is an asset

More information:
