Running Effective, Efficient and Meaningful Meetings

A criteria for a successful meeting is, if when you leave the meeting you can say to yourself, “That was a good use of my time, we got a lot down and I contributed in a meaningful way.”  If you can say something similar to this statement your meeting was well-run regardless of how it was conducted.   “Effective” means accomplishing your goals; “efficient” means good use of resources: time, energy and money; and “meaningful” means you had active involvement and contributed.

Learning Outcomes:

  • What is needed to run a successful meeting
  • Who does what, and how in successful meetings
  • How nonprofit meetings are unique and unlike most meetings we experience
  • Why it’s necessary to incorporate “Strategic Planning” and “Board Development” in every meeting
