8:30am to 9:00pm Pacific Time
The Imperial
319 Main Street

Discover what it means to create impact in business: a full day of startup workshops, inspiring keynotes, and networking.

Spring Activator is collaborating with fellow impact community partners CCS Innovation Hub at Sauder, RADIUS SFU, THNK, Groundswell, and Vancouver+Acumen to host this event. The event is a way for attendees to strengthen their entrepreneurial acumen and discover their impact potential.

#VanIMPACT14 will be a collision of purpose and profit, giving impact entrepreneurs and NPOs access to important startup advice and resources, while conversely helping more tech-centric entrepreneurs discover their own impact potential.

The full-day event will feature the following:

  • Startup workshops, including 'How to Make Your Startup Financially Viable', 'Capital Raising for Entrepreneurs', & 'Choosing the Best Structure for Your Social Venture' (see workshop schedule here)
  • Keynote speakers, including Katherine Woo (Chief Product Officer, Kiva) & Joel Solomon (Chairman, Renewal Funds)
  • 'Ones to Watch' Showcase (invite-only)
  • Service & Technology Partners Marketplace
  • Evening reception
  • After-party with musical performance by SOHN

IMPACT will be inspiring, educational, and motivating for anyone looking to make a positive impact on the world. Join the conversation #VanIMPACT14.

The event is part of Vancouver Startup Week, and will act as a foil to the more tech-centric tone of Startup Week’s programming. “This event is an opportunity to strengthen impactful entrepreneurship in Vancouver by providing both a place of discovery and a platform for discussion on what it means to create impact in business,” says organizing committee member and Spring Activator co-founder, Keith Ippel. Adds Joanna Buczkowska-McCumber, Managing Director, CSS iHub, “Participation in IMPACT at Startup Week with the [other] organizing partners, who share our vision of social impact through entrepreneurship, means that we are on our way to cultivating a rich, vibrant and collaborative ecosystem in BC for social ventures to grow.”
