  4. Able to commit to a full time internship
  5. A Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  6. Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
  7. NOT in receipt of employment insurance (EI) benefits

Spence Neighbourhood Association is looking to fill the position of Program Analyst/Multimedia Homework Internship, this is a 35 hour per week position for 16 weeks. The Program Analyst/Multimedia Homework Intern will work with SNA staff to create and manage databases, analyse data and work to create multimedia homework opportunities.


Main Duties:

  • Work with SNA staff to develop databases and tracking systems for all programs
  • Develop log book and other tracking forms online
  • Analyse data and develop tools for staff to better be able to analyze data
  • Provide youth ages 6-18 opportunities to engage with multimedia
  • Develop computer or multimedia homework program tools

Requirements:

  • up to 30 years of age (inclusive) at the time of placement

  • Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations;
  • NOT in receipt of employment insurance (EI) benefits Self motivated with excellent time management skills
  • Knowledge of computers and multimedia tools
  • Ability to provide a Criminal Record check and Child Abuse Registry check including the vulnerable persons section

Assets:

  • Relevant training including First Aid/CPR, ASIST, and NVCI
  • Experience working with youth suffering from addictions
  • Experience working with youth with metal health issues (especially FASD)
  • Experience working with marginalized youth/youth disproportionately affected by violence
  • Experience in management of crises situations.
  • Facilitation and leadership skills
  • Relevant education/experience in computers or multimedia
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Hours and remuneration:

The Employee agrees to fulfill a 35 hour work/ week. SNA agrees to pay $16 per hour on a bi-weekly schedule, with hours paid as worked. Required CPP, EI, and tax deductions will be made and employer contributions will be paid. Responsibilities may require flexible hours to be worked (i.e., evenings and weekends). However, regular hours will be between 1 pm and 8pm Monday to Friday.
