Position Summary:
The Partnership for Recovery Coordinator will work in support of provincial work stemming from Rising to the Challenge, Manitoba’s mental health strategic plan, which aims to transform the current mental health system to be recovery-oriented. The Coordinator’s role will be to assist in implementing activities in support of the Provincial Recovery Champions Committee (RCC) planning process. This position works to build capacity and connections among individuals, service providers and organizations from across sectors, starting with a focus on mental health and addictions, with the goal of engaging with all sectors supporting people with lived experience (PWLE) of mental health problems and illnesses to promote recovery-oriented services and practice.
This position requires a current driver’s license and access to a car.

PURPOSE:
The Partnership for Recovery Coordinator will work in support of provincial work stemming from Rising to the Challenge, Manitoba’s mental health strategic plan, which aims to transform the current mental health system to be recovery-oriented. The Coordinator’s role will be to assist in implementing activities in support of the Provincial Recovery Champions Committee (RCC) planning process, within the context of the deliverables outlined in the agency’s service purchase agreement with by the Mental Health and Spiritual Health Care Branch of Manitoba Health, Healthy Living and Seniors (MHHLS). This position works to build capacity and connections among individuals, service providers and organizations from across sectors, starting with a focus on mental health and addictions, with the goal of engaging with all sectors supporting people with lived experience (PWLE) of mental health problems and illnesses to promote recovery-oriented services and practice. The position is a key contributor to knowledge translation as well as developing and providing education, information, and general communication regarding recovery and recovery-related initiatives throughout Manitoba.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports the planning and implementation of provincial and regional activities within the context of the Recovery Champions Committee planning process. Engages with stakeholders in recovery throughout Manitoba to assess the information and educational needs of PWLE, family members, natural supports, service providers, organizations and the public.
- Promotes awareness and knowledge related to supporting recovery and recovery-oriented practice through the design and dissemination of information using a variety of mediums.
- Supports professional development in the area of recovery through the design and facilitation of professional development workshops and training.
- Operates within established departmental budgets.
REQUIRED CAPABILITIES and SKILLS
Job Knowledge:
- Three years completed post -secondary education at the undergraduate level in human service related disciplines such as Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or Education.
- A minimum of one year working with a recovery-focused mental health organization.
- An excellent understanding of the tenets of recovery and best-practice and promising approaches to recovery, as well as current policy and political trends pertaining to mental health and recovery.
- Proven work experience in designing and facilitating educational workshops and training programs, and evaluating the outcomes.
- Proven work experience in developing engagement and communication plans and successfully managing and evaluating the outcomes.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Manitoba-based services and systems that support PWLE.

- The incumbent has lived experience related to mental illness and is able to relate personally to the goals of the position.
- Demonstrates competence in understanding cultural diversity and working effectively with individuals with various cultural backgrounds.
Working Conditions:
This is a .8 FTE position which works out of CMHA-Winnipeg / CMHA-Manitoba’s office at 930 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, Manitoba. The usual work week is 30 hours, Monday to Friday. There is occasional weekend work and mandatory travel to other areas of the province. A driver’s license and vehicle are required for this position.
