Marlene Street Resource Centre (MSRC) is seeking a Community Program Coordinator. This is a term contract position for 20-25 hours/week at $13.00 per hour starting as soon as possible. The applicant must be available to work evenings and weekends when needed.  Other duties as dictated by Executive Director.

The Community Program Coordinator plans and facilitates all programs at MSRC. Including but not limited to: planning and delivering programs to kids, youth, and adults, identifying needs and barriers in the community, providing frontline leadership and mentorship to children, youth, and adults, liaise with school and other service providers in the area, create monthly calendars, and write monthly reports.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children, youth, and adults.
  • Experience with programming
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or mental illness.
  • Knowledge and understanding of multicultural issues and demonstrated skills working cross culturally
  • Criminal record check, child abuse registry check, CPR/First Aid certificate, or willingness to obtain them.
  • Vehicle and valid driver’s license

Assets

  • Some education or degree pertaining to Social Work, Human Ecology or related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Interest in helping others
  • Can work individually as well as cooperatively with others
  • Creativity and willingness to think of new ways to improve our community
  • Ability to communicate in languages other than English
  • Knowledge of resources and communities in St. Vital
