The OACFDC, located in St. Thomas, is the umbrella organization for the 61 Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) located throughout rural and northern Ontario. CFDCs are community-based, not-for-profit organizations, run by volunteer boards and staffed by professionals who encourage entrepreneurship and the pursuit of community economic development.

The preferred candidate will work closely with the developer of a new website to ensure all information is accurately and completely uploaded, in proper order, posted in both official languages, and tagged for search engine optimization (SEO). There will also be general office duties, as required.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Solid knowledge of the internet
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Previous experience in website administration
  • Some knowledge of website creation
  • Excellent writing skills, English spelling, grammar, punctuation
  • Some knowledge of French language preferred, able to work with translators
  • Some knowledge of online education and e-learning
  • Professional communications and telephone skills
  • Familiarity with standard office equipment and operations
  • A detail-oriented work ethic
  • Ability to adhere to tight deadlines
  • Awareness of the Community Futures Program
  • Skills to work with website developer, using email and online information
  • Experience in an office environment, working as a team player

This is a temporary position:

  • For 2 months (February and March)
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the office in St. Thomas
