The Centre for Social Innovation is a collaborative work space, community and social impact platform for people who are changing the world. Originally established in Toronto in 2004, the Centre for Social Innovation now operates 162,000 sq ft of space across four sites in Toronto and one in New York City. CSI supports more than 850 nonprofits and social mission organizations tackling a range of social, environmental and economic challenges. Our mission is to catalyze social innovation by accelerating the success of our members while fueling a broader movement for social change.

CSI is a platform that is removing barriers, reducing friction and accelerating outcomes & connections for 850 social mission groups each day. The Director of Impact and Partnerships will further enhance this work by focusing on two connected goals: First, creating and managing programs that further help CSI members to further accelerate their growth and impact; second, creating a more efficient and effective social innovation sector in Ontario. By leaning into CSI’s “collaborative DNA” and creating and nurturing the partnerships needed to get the job done, we are committed to a robust innovation ecosystem. CSI’s role is to act as convener, enabler, connector and platform for meaningful social change - Your role is to help make this possible.
This position provides the right ‘unicorn’ with an incredible platform on which to further accelerate the success and impact of a legion of social innovators and entrepreneurs. With a wide scope of responsibilities ranging from micro-loans to collaborative systems, government relations to gritty start-ups, evaluation to transformation, products to process, this opportunity is an opportunity to define the future of social innovation in Canada.

You will be expected to:
- Build and manage strategic & institutional partnerships (foundations & government) that serve CSI’s strategic acceleration & impact goals
- Lead new and existing programs that accelerate the success of individual social enterprises while advancing the social enterprise sector as a whole
- Lead the development and management of existing multi-year projects including Catapult Micro-loans, the All-in-One common funding platform and the CSI’s other acceleration initiatives
- Work collaboratively on CSI’s executive committee to secure the resources to develop our larger vision
- Write proposals, reports and other documents to prospective and past supporters
- Lead the Impact & Partnerships Team
- Participate as a part of the senior leadership team

Required Previous Experience
- 7+ years in a leadership position - ideally you’ve held an ED or Senior Mgmt position or equivalent
- Experience engaging and raising money from government, foundations, corporations and/or high net worth individuals
- Experience writing successful proposals and other persuasive communication
- Familiarity with social enterprise and social innovation
- Experience managing and leading a team
