SERA (Social Enterprise Rural Alliance) Community Ventures Inc. is a local non-for-profit organization which focuses on Social Enterprise promotion and development. As part of a collaboration of three local non-profit organizations with SERA we have successfully obtained an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant, which will allow the hiring of a part-time staff to assist with SERA’s organizational development and goals. SERA Community Ventures Inc. is seeking a Project Coordinator to continue establishing SERA as a rural economic developer with an emphasis on social enterprise.
Qualifications:
- Familiar with social enterprise and social economy sector
- Strong background in business and organizational development
- Self-starter with excellent organization and communication skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
- Ability to work with a diverse community of people in a rural area
- Interest in innovative approaches to social and economic development
- Familiar with website development and social media tools
- Ability to conduct research and other admin tasks (i.e. reports) as directed.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and have access to a licensed vehicle.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will:
- Develop SERA’s capacity to enable the promotion and incubation of local social enterprises
- Develop partnerships with a broad community around SERA’s key priorities and vision
- Design and facilitate workshops to increase the knowledge base for beginning entrepreneurs.
- Establish and develop communication tools to inform and engage SERA stakeholders.
- Research, collect and administrate materials and documentation to assist with SERA work.
- Grant writing and familiarity with major granting organizations and programs
This is a flexible part-time position 14-21 hr per week (2-3 days), employment contract with an option to renew pending funding availability, at $20-24/hr plus car mileage at $0.50/km. The position is to start immediately by Monday Aug 24, 2015.
