NorWest Co-op Community Health is looking for a dynamic fundraising professional who will be accountable for developing and implementing a diverse portfolio of fundraising activities for the new NorWest Co-op Community Food Centre. These activities may include; direct mail, major donors and third party events. This person will also assist with activities connected with the Norwest Community Food Centre’s signature event.
Reporting to the Director, the Development Coordinator will play a prominent role in supporting and expanding the round table of local fundraising champions, work on NorWest’s development goals, and collaborate with national project partners. This person will manage a stewardship and recognition program and will assist in the management of the database. The Development Coordinator will also support the work of communications staff to develop proactive and effective strategies and tools to promote our work, public image and to create awareness of health, poverty and food justice issues in our community.
This is a 1 year contract position at 20 hours/week.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in a fundraising position
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and/or equivalent work experience
- Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal skills
- Established connections to local donor community and general development environment
- Demonstrated experience with diverse fundraising activities
- Event management experience
- Diplomatic, confident, organized, assertive, enthusiastic team player
- Public Speaking experience is considered an asset
- Commitment and passion for food security, health, community development and social justice
