Summary Report:

Experiences of employment and unemployment with Indigneous and Newcomer young people
In partnership with four community-based organizations, researcher Keely Ten Fingers spoke to 46 young Indigenous and Newcomer young people about their aspirations for future paid work and their experiences seeking for employment. The research takes a strength-based approach to learn more about the experiences of young people in terms of employment, what they have found helpful and what they wish to see to support them on their journey. This research will enhance our understanding what can be done to break down barriers of racialized income inequality.

Demographic analysis of changing poverty rates in inner city Winnipeg: 

Darren Lezubski and Jim Silver have done a retrospective analysis of multiple quantitative indicators in inner city Winnipeg from 1996 to 2011. The paper sheds light on the impact of anti-poverty initiatives in the inner city during this time.

Poverty in Inner City Winnipeg: Looking beneath the surface and beyond the present: 

Jim Silver has done an overview of the comprehensive anti-poverty approaches in the inner-city thanks to investment by community, governments and other funders .
