What the Ontario Nonprofit Network is looking for?
A creative and energetic policy and systems thinker who is passionate about engaging with others and has experience working with nonprofit organizations. The Policy & Engagement Coordinator will strategically contribute to the Ontario Nonprofit Network's (ONN) policy agenda through research, analysis, and writing, as well as the facilitation, support and engagement of the ONN network and ONN stakeholders. The successful candidate will enjoy working with a small team in a "get stuff done" environment, and will have a passion for networks and supporting Ontario’s nonprofits and charities.
What will the Policy & Engagement Coordinator do?
Working with ONN's staff, Policy Committee and various working groups, the Policy & Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the strength of the nonprofit sector through identification, development and creation of solutions for systemic policies and issues affecting the sector
- Convening, facilitating and supporting stakeholder groups on issues related to policy development
- Acting as the content lead, with peer support, for ONN policy events such as the annual conference, regional meetings, working sessions, etc.
Required Qualifications
- Post secondary education in public policy, nonprofit management, political studies, communications, or related field
- Demonstrated experience as an effective facilitator and convenor within a nonprofit context; and understanding of how networks and multi-stakeholder environments function
- A strategic creative and critical thinker, with strong research and analysis skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
- Experience in, knowledge of, and passion for Ontario’s nonprofit sector
- Project and/or program management experience and ability to design, plan and carry out complex assignments within tight deadlines
- Job experience working in the nonprofit sector (3-5 years minimum)

Job Specifications
Permanent position, full-time (37.5 hours/week); benefits after 3 month probationary period; 3 weeks’ holidays
Salary range: $45,000-$65,000
Office based in Toronto, Ontario
