Many people underplay the role of a facilitator. A great Facilitator is generally not noticed, but the work and accomplishments are remembered. Unfortunately when there is poor facilitation, it is often all we notice. The cost of poor facilitation is participant frustration and ideas or decisions that are often inadequate of limited. This workshop will focus on some basic skills in facilitation so they will remember the work, not you!

FACILITATOR

Janet SchmidtJanet Schmidt currently focuses on facilitating conversations whether that be a strategic planning process or interpersonal conflict. Her passion is to get people to talk to each other in honest and constructive ways, believing that these dialogues can have the greatest impact in our communities and in our relationships. Janet continues to work with Mediation Services in the ongoing development of the training program. In the last few years, Janet has worked in Canada, US, Haiti and Mexico, in contexts as varied as private companies, federal government, healthcare and the highest leadership levels of an international development organization.
