Marlene Street Community Resource Centre (MSCRC) is a resource centre located in a Manitoba Housing complex in St. Vital, Winnipeg. We are seeking an Adult Program Coordinator. This is a term contract position for 5 hours/week beginning first week of July 2016 until December 2016. There is a possibility of renewal beginning January 2017. Pay for this position is $13 per hour.
Reporting to MSCRC Executive Director, the Adult Program Coordinator will organize, supervise and facilitate adult programs at the Centre including Harvest food donation program, Community Kitchen, Morning Mates playgroup and the clothing donation depot.
Requirements:
- Experience working with adults in programs within a non-profit, committee and/or community setting
- Displays compassion and understanding of families living in challenging socio-economic circumstances
- Knowledge and understanding of multicultural issues and demonstrated skills working cross culturally
- Ability to be discrete, non-judgmental and maintain confidentiality
- Must be in possession of current criminal record and child abuse registry check, or willingness to obtain them.
Assets:
- Some education pertaining to Human Social Services or related field
- Experience with facilitation and/or coordination of an adult program
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Can work individually as well as cooperatively with others
- Creativity and willingness to think of new ways to enhance our adult programs
- Background working with and supervising volunteers
