End Homelessness Winnipeg (EHW) is a collective impact organization in Winnipeg that is committed to ending homelessness within ten years.  A task force composed of leaders within our community worked for three years to develop a comprehensive ten-year plan that emphasizes Housing First principles and support within home settings.

Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Manager, Housing Supports leads the development and delivery of housing support services needed to end homelessness within our community.  In this role, you will

  • Oversee the development and evaluation of intake, outreach and referral services required to assist homeless people find and maintain housing
  • Ensure individuals; families, and program clients are provided with proactive, relevant consultation and support to assist them in their situation
  • Work at the system, sector, and program levels to ensure that services and supports are designed to respond to the needs of individuals who experience homelessness across the lifespan
  • Lead and support two working groups: Coordinated Assessment; and Triage and Intake Housing Supports
  • Participate in administering service purchase agreements related to the system of care

You are passionate about ending homelessness and have an in-depth understanding of homelessness and housing, as well as the needs of particular vulnerable and/or over-represented populations and issues affecting many homeless and low-income people.  You also possess the following qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and related experience:

  • University degree or diploma, preferably in the social sciences or human services, with an emphasis on meeting the needs of vulnerable populations
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in a program management or supervisory role
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the systems, supports, resources and linkages available for successful delivery of access to housing services and supports for persons challenged with homelessness.  This includes income supports, housing programs, health, mental health and addiction services.
  • Prior work in non-profit sector, preferably with organizations working on homelessness or housing
  • Understanding of business processes associated with non-profits and government, as well as the oversight of funding agreements relative to outcomes achieved
  • Understanding of communities of practice, and the ability to establish, nurture and support these communities
  • Demonstrated understanding of case management best practices, the Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness and Housing First principles
