The Laurel Centre is a non-profit agency providing therapy and support services for women who have experienced childhood or adolescent sexual victimization and want to resolve long term effects of the abuse. The agency recognizes mental health challenges and addictions as some of the long-term consequences related to unresolved trauma.

The primary task is to ensure that the daily operations of the Agency are carried out in an efficient and responsible manner.

Accountability: to the Executive Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Administrative Duties including general enquires, supplies, filing, typing, minute taking
  • Bookkeeping Duties including preparing cheques, deposits, balancing petty cash
  • Entering statistical information in the database
  • Welcoming clients
  • Assisting with fundraising activities
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Assistant

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Proficiency in using current technology software application.
  • Knowledge of Simply Accounting Program would be an asset
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and organizational abilities are necessary 
  • Working knowledge of resources available in the community
  • The ability to function independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team required.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

  • Work environment consists of an office
  • May be required to move light items weighing up to 25 LBS.
  • Some evenings may be required
  • Valid drivers license and vehicle are required

 HOURS OF WORK:  Total working hours 35 per week

STARTING SALARY RANGE:  $27,325 - $31,915 annually based on education and years of experience in similar position
