The 2018 Alternative Federal Budget delivers a roadmap to where the country could be on the eve of the next federal election, if the government moves forward with bold action to deliver a progressive economic plan that leaves no one behind. If implemented the budget will reduce income inequality, lift close to a million people out of poverty, close unfair and expensive tax loopholes, and create 600,000 jobs while locking in the unemployment rate in the five per cent range.

On Wednesday, November 22, the City of Winnipeg unveiled its 2018 Budget. Most of CCEDNet Manitoba's policy priorities for the City of Winnipeg are administrative (such as a social procurement or living wage policy), so they don't get clearly reflected in budget. However, crucial issues for communities related to our policy priorities are directly affected by this budget.

The "Sharing" Economy Should be Co-operative
Blog by Stephanie Guico

The Pay-for-Success Opportunity: From Activities to Outcomes
This paper defines pay-for-success, discusses the promises and cautions of pay-for-success, and sketches the close relation between the difficulties that bedevil pay-for-success and those that hinder program evaluation writ large, and raises a few problems that governments must manage if they wish to foster pay-for-success.
