Through this course we are aiming to build up a strong cadre of skilled co-op developers who can help create a thriving co-op sector in Alberta.

This course is being offered as part of the annual Poverty Studies Summer Institute, KNOW Poverty. The Summer Institute brings together a diverse learning community of service practitioners, policy makers, university students and persons with a lived experience of poverty to reflect on the causes, impacts and solutions to poverty. Last year we had a dynamic group of over 100 learners from the social service, government, faith and academic sectors who shared, learned and connected with each other.

Other courses being offered this year that may be of particular interest to you and your staff include:

  • Working with Vulnerable Populations.
  • Intersections Between Poverty and Government Policy.
  • Human Rights and Poverty
  • Collaborative Leadership for Social Change.
  • Sociology of Poverty

Please find attached a program guide for more information about the courses being offered. Courses are available for university credit or professional development. A discount rate is available to organizations that would like to register 3 or more staff.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the program further, please do not hesitate to contact Derek Cook at 403-410-2913.
