Who we are:

CSED is a not for profit organization that supports organizations whose primary objective is to drive systemic social change.

We offer a continuum of support for social enterprise in the city of Ottawa, including access to technical expertise, coaching, financing, learning communities, training, and cross-sector partnerships. To date, we have worked with hundreds of clients developing their social enterprise plans and providing them with the tools, strategies, and support to perpetuate positive social change and grow profitably.

From our inception as a collaboration between community partners to our current status as a federally incorporated not-for-profit, CSED continues to build a strong ecosystem of supports for social enterprises at all stages of development throughout the Ottawa region.

Your Role:

The role of the Manager of Communication, Events and Marketing focuses on design and execution of CSED’s communications and marketing strategy as well as all CSED events – to advance CSED’s brand identity, broaden awareness of CSED’s mission, increase visibility across key stakeholder audiences and promote the social enterprise sector in Ottawa. The incumbent is responsible for planning, development and implementation of all of the organization’s marketing, communications and public relations activities. The Manager of Communication, Events and Marketing also oversees CSED’s public communication activities targeting key stakeholders – funding agencies, social enterprises, delivery/strategic partners – and leads campaigns from ideation to delivery. The Manager of Communication, Events and Marketing is also the principal architect of CSED’s web and social media strategies and also conceives, designs, executes and leads CSED’s community outreach programs, and works closely with our partners in their implementation 

The position reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the CSED’s two Directors on messaging and public relations.

Your Qualities:

CSED’s Manager of Communication, Events and Marketing is a talented and committed communications and marketing professional who possesses a strong commitment to detail, excellent communications skills, with corporate and consumer marketing experience. The ideal candidate for this role is proactive, creative and possess a high degree of energy and enthusiasm for the role. He/she can determine and design strategies to move CSED’s brand and messaging forward – set goals, create and implement actions plans, and evaluate the process and results.
