Salary Range: $77,000 to $85,000 per annum
Start Date: as soon as possible
Term: permanent, full-time (37.5 hours/week). Applicants on secondment basis are welcome.
The Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN) is seeking a bilingual, dynamic, outcomes focused individual to lead community development and outreach initiatives and related activities for the English-speaking communities of Quebec.
The Director of Community Development and Outreach works directly with community leaders and key stakeholders to build capacity and promote the English-speaking community by leveraging opportunities that serve to enhance the social, economic and cultural vitality of the community. This includes identifying opportunities for community partnerships, projects and programs which may lead to the development of proposals and grant requests for government and private funding.
The position also directly supports QCGN’s members, building a better understanding of the QCGN’s mandate and fostering a common vision among the membership of the desired future for the English-speaking community. As the QCGN’s field presence, the incumbent represents the QCGN on various external committees, and leads corporate activities such as membership and community priority setting.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Five (5) years’ community development experience in a senior role in government, the public sector, or NGO;
- In-depth knowledge of the English-speaking community of Quebec, including the challenges and opportunities faced;
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams in analytical/problem-solving with the ability to achieve consensus;
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely and the ability to speak publicly;
- The ability to communicate in both English and French;
Travel across Quebec, as well as a valid driver’s license are required for this position.
The salary will be commensurate with the individual’s qualifications and experience.
