Youth Agencies Alliance (YAA) is looking for an energetic and creative Program Coordinator.
The YAA Program Coordinator will report to the YAA Director and will be responsible for planning, facilitating, and reporting on all YAA programs. These programs include but are not limited to the Youth Leadership Circle, Art Show, Camp, Youth Council and Conference. The Coordinator will organize regular capacity development and training opportunities and seek out new ones. The Coordinator will act as a representative of YAA on a variety of community councils/committees.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with community-based organizations, demonstrated skills and abilities in program planning and delivery including project budget management. The successful candidate will have a passion for helping youth and youth serving agencies succeed in our communities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Program Coordination
- Write funding applications and reports
- Liaise with respective sub-committees to plan program activities and events
- Liaise with respective vendors, facilities, and partners to coordinate program logistics
- Provide guidance and support for front-line staff involved in implementing YAA programs
- Ensure participant evaluations are conducted within each program and compile results
- Program Facilitation
- Attend 2 weeks of Camp in the summer
- Attend Art Show workshops
- Plan and facilitate Youth Council meetings
- Document programs/events and engage media
- Take photos, post on social media, capture quotes from participants etc.
- Participate in media interviews when requested
- Financial Management
- Create program budgets and manage those budgets
- Manage the RLC Youth Leadership Inc. bank account
- Seek out funding for programs and in-kind donations with a focus on diversifying funds and securing multi-year agreements
- Organization Capacity Development
- Set up training opportunities for member agency staff, manage registration and payments
- Coordinate dates and locations with facilitator, and oversee facilitator contract
- Garner training feedback from agencies
- Community Relations
- Develop new partnerships in the community and maintain existing partnerships
- Represent YAA at external tables
- Administrative
- Attend YAA committee meetings and record minutes
- Create YAA weekly updates and circulate to members
- Create the YAA Annual Report in conjunction with YAA Director
- Manage social media accounts, dropbox account and website
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Complete Grade 12 or equivalent
- Valid and clean Full Class 5 Driver’s License
- Demonstrated abilities using Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated initiative and skills in planning
- Experience working in cross-cultural settings and sensitive to diverse cultures
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary degree or College Diploma in Social Work, Education, Youth Care, Recreation Management or a combination of equivalent education and experience
- Knowledge of and experience with youth-serving agencies in Winnipeg
- Experience with financial management and acquiring project funding
- Current and valid Emergency First Aid and CPR (or willing to acquire)
- Current and valid Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification (or willing to acquire)
TERM: Term position until March 31, 2019 with expectation of renewal.
OFFICE HOURS: 8:30am - 4:30pm, occasional evenings and weekends required.
STARTING SALARY: $16 per hour for a 35 hour work week (salary will be commensurate with experience)
