JOB SUMMARY
Answering to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director – given to his visionary leadership, ability to unite people and his strategic know-how – plans, organizes, leads and strategically controls Group Convex Prescott-Russell as well as its various social enterprises along with other economic development projects within the realm of its mandate. The Executive Director fleshes out the organization’s mission, vision and values which are part and parcel of Groupe Convex. He maintains productive relationships with funders, mostly with Valoris, a local community partner, under which the director is on secondment to Groupe Convex. The Director operationalizes the organization’s new strategic plan and makes use of his know-how in governance and social innovation. This talented higher level executive has political flair as he plays a continuous and complex role in developing partnerships with stakeholders from the social business, economic and community development as well as the employment sectors. He is accountable for the organization’s operational performance and monitors its strategic positioning. He ensures accountability by producing all necessary documentation in support of sound human, material, communication and financial management’s systems.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- A Baccalaureate degree in Business Administration or in Business, in Social Economy or within a related field. A combination of education and experience could be considered. A Master degree in a related field would be an asset.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a higher executive (executive director, deputy executive director or program manager) of a business or of a medium-size organization.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in dealing with a board of directors.
- A good knowledge of social business’ development models, in employment initiatives and adult training as well as in economic and community development.
- A good working knowledge of local and provincial strategic stakeholders would be an asset.
- Very good linguistic skills (oral and written) in both English and in French.
