Position: Wi Che Win Coordinator
Classification: Full Time Term - April 01, 2019 to March 31, 2020

Background:
Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre has implemented the Wi Che Win and Beaver Medicine Bundle as part of our Housing First Homelessness program. The programs work intensively with participants in the transition from being homeless to having homes, as part of the Homelessness team working to provide holistic Housing First support services to program participants. The activities shall range from individual support services, home visits and supporting the participants’ individualized plans.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the administration, operational and training needs are being met to further enhance the quality of care within the site and that the standards of the programs are being met.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the practices of the Centre;
- Post-secondary education in the area of Human Services or acceptable equivalent related experience;
- Working knowledge & experience in mental health, homelessness, social work, substance abuse, housing & community development;
- Knowledgeable and familiarity with the Residential Tenancies Branch and the legislation relating to landlord/tenant relations;
- Strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong organizational and consultative skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work with crisis situations using conflict resolution;
- Demonstrated skill/experience in developing and maintaining an effective working relationship with Indigenous and Non-Indigenous, non-mandated organizations;
- Strong understanding of community based models of practice;
- Team player/facilitator that encourages an environment fostering effective results in teams;
- Provide leadership to make change, implementing processes and provide strategic direction;
- Communicate effectively in verbal and written form, including effective use of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and electronic mail;
- Ability to set and meet deadlines;
- Ability to implement program polices and protocols;
- Strong motivational and leadership ability to mentor teams in achieving their full potential;
- Understanding of Indigenous values and community issues;
- Subject to Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry and Prior Contact Checks;
- Must have access to a vehicle and valid Manitoba Driver’s License.
