Human Resource Administrator
Ka Ni Kanichihk Inc. is a nonprofit, community based; Indigenous lead human services organization that provides a range of Indigenous identified programs and services that focus on the wholeness, wellness and that builds on the strengths and resilience of Indigenous People.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Administrator who has a commitment to the strengths and values of Indigenous knowledge, cultural reclamation, and traditional practices.
The Human Resource Administrator is responsible for administration of the HR functions of the organization, including planning, organizing, directing, controlling and analyzing the operations of the Human Resources department. Key areas of responsibility include assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures; recruitment, orientation, onboarding, training and development, benefits administration, health and safety, and other areas as directed. In addition to remaining current with all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations, this role requires the individual to adhere to and enforce all established policies and procedures. The position will also provide technical support on gender equality in an Indigenous workplace, and utilize Traditional ways of being in workplace practices.
What You Bring:
- Completion of a relevant post-secondary diploma or certificate, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ of progressively responsible human resources experience or related field.
- Knowledge of human resources operations, and demonstrated working knowledge of multiple human resource areas preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and departures.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective recommendations to solve HR related issues related to regulations, laws and policies.
- Ability to interpret and implement policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of income tax forms, health benefits programs, various employee leave management, retirement plans, employee stats, etc.
- Ability to format and draft correspondence, forms, reports, and proposals.
- Ability to maintain and preserve strict confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills, excellent communication, both written and oral, and professional work behavior.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task.
- Ability to take initiative and work with direct and minimal supervision.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
- Data analysis skills required.
- Basic research skills required.
- Experience working in a not-for profit organization is preferred.
- Must be computer literate with specific experience in Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office.
